| DESCRIPTION | The Big Cypress National Preserve in South Florida was one of the first parks inducted into the National Park System. They have several trails that can be enjoyed by swamp buggy, 4x4 or bike. The trails are available in Bear Island. To operate in the Preserve you must first get an Operator's Permit from the Big Cypress Visitor Center at Oasis (halfway between Naples and Miami). Then you need to obtain a Vehicle Inspection Sticker from the Visitors Center which is good for three years. After these two have been received then an Annual Vehicle Permit may be purchased.
